A few Scenes of Winter in December 2013

This year both Christmas Day and New Year's Day were green; believe me, no complaints!

Here is a brief look back at what was going on about a year ago this time.

Finally testing out the new snowblower that had only been sitting in the basement for several years.

December 14, 2013 - a good day to retire the shovel.

Genuine, Quebec-style freezing rain almost never occurs in this part of the city, therefore, the ice-covered trees and branches were a rare winter scene to behold here.

December 23, 2013 - scene of the back yard.

We had it good - no loss of electrical power or damage; others in a wider surrounding area could not claim the same.

During the storm Kimberly's house took a hit from a large tree branch that broke and punctured the front roof of her home. Everyone was at home when the excitement occurred but fortunately no one was hurt.

That afternoon the insurance company sent over a team to remove the branch and patch the roof in spite of the stormy weather conditions.

December 23, 2013 - tree branch through the roof.

And that was the way it was in December 2013.
